Common Questions (Q&A)

Q1: May I ask the high school students to apply for admission through the four skills to fill in the volunteers or participate in separate enrollment?

A : For ordinary high school students who want to graduate this year, please apply for the four skills application. Ordinary high school students who graduated last year, in addition to four skills to apply for admission, can also participate in the regional enrollment of the performing arts department.

Q2: Isn’t independent enrollment included in the calculation of academic scores?

A : The independent enrollment of the school does not include the scores of the academic test or the unified test as a single scoring project, so you can take the test without the same test or test scores.

Q3: Will it be affected by the registration, distribution, credits, etc. of the examination?

A : Basically, the distribution and promotion of independent performing enrollment and post-testing in the performing arts department are independent of each other and will not be affected. As long as you meet the relevant qualifications, you can apply. However, in the end, students can only enroll in a school with one type of admission (either alone or applying for admission).

Q4: When is the audition date?

A : Exams are held every year on the second weekend of May.

Q5: How to apply?  Where can I download the registration form?

A1 : The official website of the Department of Performing Arts is : http://www.pad.stu.edu.tw
Official Website → Admissions → Registration Form Download
A2 : On the Department of Performing Arts Facebook Page : https://goo.gl/kpqNWm
A3 : On the Shu-Te University Admission Information Website : http://reg.aca.stu.edu.tw/

Q6: How do I prepare for the examination?  What is the weight of the score?

A : Find ways to highlight your strengths and let the judges know what potential and expertise you have in performance. The scoring is weighted as such: written test (Chinese, English) 30%, audition 70%.

Q7: Must I have two different areas of expertise? Can they be in the same category (such as: musical instrument and singing)?

A : The performance time limit of the primary and secondary areas of expertise is limited.  The primary and secondary areas need to be chosen from the four categories: music, drama, dance, and theater technology.  They cannot be repeated.  For example, if the primary area is music, then the secondary area can only be dance, drama, or theater technology.  After selecting a category, select what you want to present.  For example, after the performance category is selected as music, you can then perform on your musical instrument or sing (solo, or as part of a group), or submit to the judges a recording or score of a song or other musical composition that you have written.

Q8: Must I have five documents for review?

A : Prepare 2 copies of the written information, and combine the written information of the same content into a PDF file and store it on the flash drive. Pay in the interview (including the examination of the technical and written materials) and pay the access (and return after completion). It is recommended to save more than one in the cloud or mail box!
